Game On 13’s founder, Eric Holtz, is a dedicated and incredibly passionate professional. Eric started his collegiate coaching career with his first gig at Manhattanville College coaching the baseball team for two years as an assistant and then served as the hitting coach at Westchester Community College for eight years before turning his focus to his business and shortly after, international baseball.
Rewinding back to 2007, Eric was drafted by the Bet Shmesh Blue Sox in the Israel Baseball League where he served as a player/coach and was instrumental in helping the Blue Sox win the inaugural championship. This opportunity led to a mutual interest down the line of Eric getting involved in Israel National Baseball and boy did he get involved. In 2013, Eric was an assistant coach on the Team USA that won the gold medal in baseball at the 2013 Maccabiah Games and the head coach of the Under-18 U.S. club that took gold at the 2017 Maccabiah. Shortly after, Eric switched sides and was named Head Coach of the Senior Israel National Baseball team with only hopes and dreams of reaching the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Through three years of rigorous traveling and gutsy performances with an all-hands-on-deck mentality, Eric’s squad was one of the first to secure their spot in a pool of only six international teams in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Eric led them to the knockout stages and lost to an incredibly experienced Dominican Republic team on a walk-off after having knocked out Mexico. Following the Tokyo Olympics, Eric would step down as head coach to take his place once again at the helm of Game On 13, and the week he was back from the Olympics, he was back to working with the next generation and trying to help them get better.
